Scholarship Students

Scholarship Offered by JASI for SSP09and MSS/MSM09-10

The Japanese Alumni Society for the International Space University (ISU) (JASI) has decided an offer of its scholarship for those who wish to enroll either in ISU's Summer Session Program which will be held at California, U.S.A. in 2009 (SSP09), or in the Master of Space Science/Master of Space Management which will be held at Toulouse, France in 2009-2010 (MSS/MSM 09-10).

The outlines of the scholarship are as follows:

1. Conditions
- Loan: A loan amount will be decided on examination, but it is no more than 1,200,000 yen per application.
- Repayment: Equal repayment for five years from 2008 without interest (The advanced completion of repayment is acceptable)
- Joint Guarantors: Two guarantors are needed. One is mainly among applicant's parents or elder siblings and the other lives independently in Japan. They are in a position to take joint responsibility for the repayment on behalf of the applicant if the applicant is unable to do so. (See the scholarship regulations for more details)
2. Applicant
Any excellent student or adult living in Japan who has applied for SSP07 or MSS/MSM07-08 and needs financial help. No nationality is questionable.
3. Criteria for Selection
Selection is based on over-all judgment toward the applicant's qualifications, including potentials, eagerness, internationality, English ability, self-efforts and other competency. In case of many applicants, these qualifications will be closely examined to choose the best applicants.
4. Number of Beneficiary/dt>
A few, depending upon applicant's qualification and available fund

-A Letter of Guarantor
6. Deadline for Application

7. Schedules after Application (tentative)
(1) Confirmation: To confirm the applicant by 24 May (Sun.) by call or other means.
(2) Examination: To perform selection examination (paper review) by early June
(3) Notification of Results/Amount of Loan: By early June

The outlines of the scholarship are as follows:
